Alleged Accused’s Father Denies Son’s Involvement in Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case

The Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, which has gripped the nation, took a dramatic turn as the alleged attacker’s father, Md Rohul Amin, claimed that the person being shown on television is not his son. Speaking to the media, Amin asserted that his son’s distinctive hairstyle proves his innocence.

“My son has always kept short hair and used to back-brush it. The photograph of the man shown is not my son from any angle. For 30 years, he has maintained the same hairstyle. Why would it change now?” said Amin.

Amin revealed that his son had entered India illegally from Bangladesh earlier this year, in April or March 2024. He stated that they were forced to leave Bangladesh due to political persecution. According to Amin, he is a BNP leader, and his family’s political affiliations made it unsafe for them to remain in Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina’s regime. “Sheikh Hasina was killing many people, making it difficult for my son to stay in the country,” he alleged.

Amin’s son, identified as Mohammad Shariful, had reportedly been working in a hotel in Mumbai and regularly sent money back home. Amin insisted that Shariful’s age and hairstyle did not match the man accused in the case. He expressed disbelief over the possibility of his son orchestrating such a high-profile attack, saying, “It is not possible for my son to plan an attack on a big Bollywood celebrity.”

Adding to his defense, Amin said he last spoke to his son on Friday, but has not heard from him since. He plans to approach the Bangladesh government for assistance in proving his son’s innocence.

Meanwhile, forensic reports have strengthened the case against Shariful. Fingerprints found in Saif Ali Khan’s residence, including those from the actor’s room and bathroom, have matched with Shariful’s. The evidence contradicts Amin’s claims and points to Shariful’s presence at the crime scene.

Actor Saif Ali Khan, who survived multiple stab wounds, has recorded his statement with the police. He recounted the harrowing incident in which the attacker broke into his residence and stabbed him multiple times. Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where surgeons removed a 2.5-inch piece of the knife lodged in his back.

The case continues to unfold, with investigators relying on forensic evidence and witness statements to establish the truth. The conflicting claims from Shariful’s father and the mounting evidence against him have only deepened the mystery surrounding the case.
