Actress Noor Malabika Das Is No More, Died By Suicide As Per Reports

Noor Malabika Das, known for her roles in The Trial and other Indian productions, tragically passed away. The former air hostess with Qatar Airways was found deceased in her Lokhandwala residence on June 6, as reported by Mid-day. Early indications suggest that the Assam-born actress died by suicide.

According to sources close to the media outlet, neighbors alerted the Oshiwara Police Station after detecting a foul odor emanating from Das’ apartment. Upon entering, authorities discovered her body hanging from a ceiling fan, in an advanced state of decomposition. They confiscated her mobile phone, diary, and medication for further investigation.

Following the panchanama, Das’ remains were taken to Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon for post-mortem examination. Despite efforts by the police to contact her family, no one came forward to claim the body. Subsequently, with the assistance of law enforcement and the NGO Mamdani Health and Education Trust, her last rites were conducted on Sunday.

The 37-year-old actress had featured in various Indian productions, including Siskiyaan, Walkaman, Teekhi Chatni, Jaghanya Upaya, Charamsukh, Dekhi Andekhi, and Backrod Hustale. Notably, she portrayed a significant character in the Indian adaptation of The Good Wife, titled The Trial, starring Kajol.

Directed by Suparn Verma, The Trial premiered on Disney+ Hotstar in 2023, comprising eight episodes of legal drama.

Aloknath Pathak, a close friend of Noor, expressed his grief to Midday, saying, “I am deeply saddened by this news. I have known Noor for many years and have had the pleasure of working with her in numerous films and series.”
