About 180 Flights Delayed As Fog Brings Down Visibility To Zero In Delhi

A dense fog has reduced the visibility in the national capital and the surrounding areas early this morning, delaying dozens of trains and flights. At least six flights have been cancelled and about 180 others delayed. As many as 26 Delhi bound trains are also running late and the timings have been changed for six trains.

Traffic also slowed down in Delhi and nearby cities due to the bad visibility.  In its last update, Delhi Airport had warned fliers to stay updated about their flights.

Budget carriers IndiGo and SpiceJet have also told their passengers that flights may be impacted due to low visibility and they have requested passengers to keep checking their flight updates.

“While landings and take-offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted,” said Delhi Airport in repeated alerts.

Delhi recorded a temperature of 9 degrees Celsius in the morning with the weather office predicting fog once again in the evening and night hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had also forecast dense fog in the morning and cloudy skies later. There are also chances of light rain.
