The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday released a fresh list of 20 candidates for the upcoming 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, marking significant changes in its strategy for the state polls.
Manish Sisodia, a prominent AAP leader and three-time MLA from the Patparganj constituency, has been shifted to contest from the Jangpura constituency this time. Sisodia’s previous seat, Patparganj, will now see Avadh Ojha, a civil services coach who recently joined the AAP, as the party’s candidate.
This is the second list released by AAP for the 2025 polls, following an earlier announcement in November, which featured 11 candidates. The process of finalizing the candidates for the elections remains ongoing, as the party aims to solidify its position in Delhi.
Here is the list:

In the 2020 Assembly elections, AAP made similar strategic changes, dropping 15 incumbent MLAs while introducing 24 new faces. Among these were now-Chief Minister Atishi, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, and Dilip Pandey, all of whom had previously faced defeats in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The AAP’s strategy of introducing fresh candidates and relocating key leaders like Sisodia reflects its adaptive approach to maintaining dominance in the national capital. The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for early 2025, and the ruling party is keen to retain its stronghold amidst growing competition.
