Child Abuse At Indore Orphanage, “Stripped, Hung Upside Down”

According to the police, about 21 children at an orphanage in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, have accused its staff of horrifying abuse and torture.
After a team from the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) conducted an unexpected inspection at the orphanage last week, the horror came to light.

According to police, the kids told them that if they made even small mistakes, the staff would torture them. “The children told the team that they were hung upside down, branded with hot iron and photographed after being stripped,”officials said.

They were also forced to breathe in red chili smoke.

An investigation is underway after a First Information Report, or FIR, was filed against five orphanage staff members.

“A four-year-old child was locked in the bathroom and not given food for two-three days after he defecated in his pants,” the complaint stated.

According to the police, the Vatsalyapuram Jain Trust-run orphanage was not registered under the Juvenile Justice Act. In addition, the Trust maintains orphanages in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Surat, and Jodhpur.

The CEC filed a complaint, which served as the basis for the case. The children were moved to government facilities and the orphanage was promptly sealed, according to Amrendra Singh, the Additional Commissioner of Police in Indore.

“We are looking into the claims of the horrifying abuse,” Singh told a news channel.

According to the police, the team’s complaint was accompanied by images of children’s injuries. The children at the facility are orphans from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh.
