Indian stock markets ended mixed as the Sensex gained 114 points to close at 78,080, while the Nifty declined 40 points to settle at 24,396. Heavy selling was witnessed in banking and metal stocks during the session. Despite the decline in Nifty, gains in selected shares helped the Sensex finish higher overall today.
