    Delhi Finance Minister Atishi Pledges to Establish ‘Ram Rajya’ in Maiden Budget Speech

    Delhi Finance Minister Atishi, in her maiden budget speech delivered at the assembly on Monday, announced the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s commitment to establish ‘Ram Rajya’ in the national capital. With an outlay of Rs 76,000 crore for the financial year 2024-25, Atishi outlined the government’s focus on key sectors such as education, health, power, and infrastructure.

    The Budget Session of the Delhi Assembly, which commenced on February 15 and was scheduled to end on February 21, has been extended till March 8, marking one of the longest assembly sessions under the AAP government’s tenure.

    During her speech, Atishi highlighted the transformation witnessed by Delhi over the past decade under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She emphasized Kejriwal’s commitment to prioritizing education, labeling it as the ‘Raj Dharm’ or the primary duty of the government. Proposing an allocation of Rs 16,396 crore for the education sector, she underscored the government’s dedication to enhancing educational infrastructure and standards.

    Atishi reiterated the government’s aspiration to emulate the principles of ‘Ram Rajya’, emphasizing that the administration draws inspiration from Lord Ram. She expressed determination towards realizing the vision of ‘Ram Rajya’, symbolizing an era of ideal governance and societal harmony.

    “This is a moment of pride that Kejriwal government is presenting its tenth budget. I am not just presenting the tenth budget but a picture of changing Delhi. Kejriwal came as a ray of hope. We are all inspired by Ram Rajya. We are working hard towards realizing the dream of Ram Rajya,” Atishi stated in the state assembly.
