Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has decided to resign. Ishiba has taken this step to avoid a division within the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). Japanese media NHK has reported this. Ishiba’s coalition government lost the Upper House (House of Councillors) elections held in July.
