34-Year-Old Woman Caught Smuggling MDMA from Bengaluru, Concealed Drugs in Private Parts

Karnataka Police have arrested a 34-year-old woman for allegedly smuggling MDMA, a synthetic drug commonly known as “ecstasy,” from Bengaluru. The narcotics, valued in lakhs, were discovered following a high-speed chase, news agency PTI reported, citing police officials.

The accused, identified as Anila Raveendran from Anchalummoodu, was taken into custody on Friday evening. Her car was pursued and intercepted by the Sakthikulangara police along with the Kollam City Police District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF).

Authorities first attempted to stop her vehicle near the Neendakara bridge, but she tried to evade them. After successfully halting her car, officers found around 90 grams of MDMA in her possession. An initial search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 50 grams of the drug. However, a subsequent medical examination revealed that she had concealed an additional 40 grams in her private parts.

As part of the investigation, police seized her car as evidence. MDMA, known for its mood-altering effects, is often used as a party drug.
