Thirteen people died and four others were injured after a bus crumpled into a truck parked on the Pune-Bangalore Highway in Karnataka. This mishap took place on Friday morning. While 11 people died were declared brought dead, two others died during treatment.

The accident occured near Gundebnahalli crossing in Haveri district at about 3.50 am. In all, 17 people were travelling in the mini bus.

The victims, residents of Shivamogga, had travelled to the Belagavi district for a pilgrimage. They were on their way back home when the accident occurred. The injured have been admitted to a hospital and two of them are in a serious conditionaccording to the reports. While the cause of the accident is not known, according to the reports the driver of the bus fell asleep that led to the accident.
