10-Year-Old Commits Suicide After Severe Bullying at School, Parents Claim Alerting Authorities 20 Times

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 10-year-old boy from Indiana, Sammy Teusch, took his own life after enduring what his family described as “horrific bullying” at school. Sammy, a fourth-grader, tragically passed away on May 5, leaving his family shattered and demanding answers from the education system.

According to Sammy’s parents, Sam and Nichole Teusch, they had raised concerns about the bullying to the school authorities at least 20 times over the past year. The bullying reportedly began when Sammy was in elementary school, with taunts about his glasses and teeth escalating into physical violence, including an incident where his glasses were broken on the school bus.

Despite the family’s repeated complaints, the school district’s superintendent denied any reports of bullying being submitted. However, the district did acknowledge that there were regular discussions between the school’s administrators and the Teusch family throughout the year. Sammy’s grandmother, Cynthia Teusch, expressed anger at the district’s assertion of having a zero-tolerance policy on bullying, stating that it seemed more like an absence of accountability rather than genuine action against bullies.

Sammy’s mother, devastated by her son’s death, revealed that he had mentioned an incident in a bathroom just a week prior to his suicide, which left him too afraid to return to school. She emphasized that her son’s decision to end his life was a direct result of the relentless bullying he faced.
