Elon Musk Predicts Trudeau’s Downfall in Upcoming Canadian Elections

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who actively supported Donald Trump in his recent U.S. presidential campaign, has now shifted his political focus to Canada, predicting that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government will lose power in the next general election, scheduled for October 2025.

Musk’s comment was sparked by a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, that announced the collapse of Germany’s socialist government, hinting at a potential snap election there. Musk responded to the post with a critical remark about German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, stating, “Olaf ist ein Narr,” which translates to “Olaf is a fool.”

This comment was followed by a response from a user urging Musk to “help in Canada getting rid of Trudeau,” to which Musk replied, “He will be gone in the upcoming election.”

Trudeau, who has led Canada’s Liberal Party since 2013, currently holds a minority government status, increasing the likelihood of a challenging election in 2025. Major opposition parties, such as the Conservative Party, led by Pierre Poilievre, and the New Democratic Party (NDP), led by Jagmeet Singh, are vying for public support, potentially signaling a shift in leadership.

Trudeau’s leadership has been the subject of growing criticism, particularly around immigration policies, with opponents arguing that unchecked immigration is straining Canadian resources. Projections indicate Trudeau could face substantial opposition, especially as recent diplomatic issues have further complicated his standing on the international stage.

India-Canada relations have notably deteriorated, following allegations by Trudeau that India was involved in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani separatist in Canada. India has categorically denied the accusations, dismissing them as baseless. Tensions escalated as India withdrew High Commissioner Sanjay Verma, citing safety concerns, after Canada labeled him and other diplomats as “persons of interest” in the Nijjar investigation.

India has repeatedly voiced concerns over the rise of Khalistani extremism in Canada, accusing Trudeau’s administration of insufficient action against groups supporting anti-India activities.

With international relations strained and domestic challenges mounting, Trudeau faces significant pressure in the lead-up to the 2025 election.
