Telugu actress Hema was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Monday in connection with a recent rave party near Bengaluru’s Electronic City. The arrest follows an intensive interrogation session at the CCB office, where Hema, who attempted to conceal her identity by wearing a burqa, was detained after providing unsatisfactory responses.
The controversial rave party, which took place on May 19, was raided by the Anti-Narcotics Division of Karnataka Police. The raid, conducted based on specific intelligence, uncovered rampant drug use among the attendees. Among the 103 people present, including 73 men and 30 women, were two notable Telugu actors, Hema and Ashi Roy.
According to Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda, blood samples from the guests were sent to a laboratory for drug testing. Preliminary results confirmed that at least 86 attendees had tested positive for drug consumption.
During the raid, law enforcement officers seized a significant quantity of narcotics, including MDMA (Ecstasy) pills, MDMA crystals, hydro cannabis, and cocaine. Additionally, high-end cars, DJ equipment, and sound and lighting systems worth Rs 1.5 crore were confiscated. The event, purportedly a birthday party, was organized by a Hyderabad-based individual named Vasu and took place between 5 PM on May 18 and 6 AM on May 19.
