Kejriwal Being Denied Insulin in Tihar Jail, Being Pushed Towards “Slow Death”: Saurabh Bhardwaj

The Aam Aadmi Party claimed that by denying Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal insulin and doctor’s consultations, he is being forced to die a “slow death” in Tihar jail.
Party spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj stated in a press conference that Arvind Kejriwal, who has Type-2 diabetes, has been requesting insulin and a video conference with his family doctor, but the jail administration is refusing his requests.

Citing the jailed Chief Minister’s blood sugar readings, Saurabh Bharadwaj asserted, “I want to say with full responsibility that a conspiracy is underway for the slow death of Arvind Kejriwal.”

He further claimed that Kejriwal had been suffering from diabetes for the previous 20 to 22 years and attacked the Tihar government, the BJP, the Center, and the Delhi LG for allegedly denying him insulin.

Chief Minister Council Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi said on Friday that it is “shocking” and “alarming” that Mr. Kejriwal has not received insulin since his arrest to control his blood sugar levels.

In order to justify medical bail, the ED had argued in court on Thursday that Kejriwal, who has type 2 diabetes, consumes sugar-rich foods like mangoes and sweets on a daily basis.

But Mr Kejriwal denied the ED’s allegations, stating in court that the food he ate followed the diet plan his physician had prescribed.

“Only three occasions did mangoes appear in 48 meals that were sent from home,” Mr. Singhvi stated in court.
