NEW DELHI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is preparing to make all toll plazas 100% digital. From April 1, 2026, cash transactions at National Highway toll plazas may be completely discontinued. This move aims to eliminate long queues, reduce travel time, and further the “Digital India” mission by mandating FASTag or other digital payment methods.
