New Delhi: A PIL filed in the Supreme Court has sought to restrain Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar from functioning as CEC, citing reports of about 14 objections recorded by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi between October 2025 and August 2026. Petitioner Rakesh Kumar Singh argues that Election Commission decisions cannot be taken unilaterally by the CEC.
