No Relief For Kejriwal, ED Gets 4-day Custody Till April 1

In no major relief, Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Enforcement Directorate custody extended by 4 days in Delhi liquor policy case. The Ed maintained it needed further custody to confront him with the other accused. The investigating agency had sought 7 days time but hte court only granted it 4 days.

Kejriwal is currently in the lock-up of the ED’s Delhi office after his arrest on March 15 in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam.

AAP ministers Atishi, Gopal Rai and Saurabh Bharadwaj along with the chief minister’s wife Sunita Kejriwal were present inside the court room.

The ED told the court that Kejriwal was giving evasive replies and was not disclosing passwords of his digital devices.

Making his submissions himself in in court, Kejriwal argued, “I am named by four witnesses in the excise policy case; are 4 statements enough to arrest a sitting CM?”
