A fresh twist has emerged in the controversy surrounding the alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) now pointing fingers directly at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP’s Vice-President in Delhi, Kapil Mishra, took to social media to share a photograph purportedly showing Bibhav Kumar, a close aide of Kejriwal, in the company of the AAP chief and other party leaders at Lucknow Airport Wednesday night.

Mishra’s post ignited a series of accusations, with BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla releasing a video message insinuating Kejriwal’s involvement in the assault. Poonawalla alleged that Kejriwal orchestrated the attack on Maliwal, as evidenced by the AAP’s failure to file an FIR against Bibhav Kumar even after 72 hours, despite senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh acknowledging Kumar’s involvement.

Poonawalla further claimed that Maliwal was under pressure to remain silent or alter her account of the incident, citing statements made by Maliwal’s former husband, Naveen Jaihind, and AAP leader Nitin Tyagi.
