Former West Bengal MLA Ashish Banerjee was found hanging at his office near his residence in Rampurhat on Thursday morning. Police reached the spot after receiving information and began investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Banerjee had served as an MLA five times and held several ministerial portfolios in the Trinamool Congress government. He was also Deputy Speaker.
