‘Cong Was Never Like This’ Another Cong Spokesman Joins BJP

Rohan Gupta, the spokesperson for the Congress, today defected to the BJP, accusing the Grand Old Party of reversing its beliefs, sending out confusing messages, being haughty, and invading people’s “self-respect”. In an exclusive interview with a TV news channel, Gupta claimed that the party has lost its way and its credibility as a result of “Leftist” leaders who are so conceited as to disregard criticism from the grassroots.

He stated that “the person who is handling communications for the party” was his target, even though he did not give names. According to Gupta, this leader was accountable for a large portion of the jumbled messages coming from the party, in addition to neglecting to contact when his father was ill and in the hospital.

“Many issues have arisen since he assumed office, including nationalism, Sanatan, and alliances with the Aam Aadmi Party… I was really upset, as were a lot of other people. However, we persevered,” he remarked. The last straw came when he didn’t even get a polite call regarding his father. “I felt like it was time to end the day. It was an issue of dignity for oneself, Gupta said to NDTV.

“People always criticize those who depart, saying things like, ‘He left because of greed.'” He was afraid, but what about his dignity? We should pay attention to the input that folks like us provide from the ground up. “We shouldn’t give leaders who are unable to listen a free pass,” he stated.

When asked why he chose to join the BJP, a party he has been vocally criticizing on behalf of the Congress, he said it had to do with the party’s long-term goals. According to him, the BJP now stands for all that the Congress used to stand for. “Primarily the two core values of centrist policies and nationalism, which had helped the Congress rule for 60 years,” he stated.

However, in the past two years, Leftist concepts have surpassed these ideals, which were at the root of the Congress’s refusal to attend the Ayodhya Ram temple inauguration and criticism of businessmen who contributed to the growth of the country.

“The Congress was never like this,” he said, pointing out the party once brought in liberalisation and stood for the country’s economic growth.
