Varun Gandhi Makes Emotional Appeal to Pilibhit After BJP Denies Lok Sabha Ticket

In a heartfelt appeal to the people of Pilibhit, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi expressed his deep connection to the constituency, vowing to continue serving its residents despite being denied the Lok Sabha ticket for the upcoming elections. This emotional plea comes just a day after Jitin Prasada was announced as the candidate for the Pilibhit seat instead of Gandhi.

Taking to the micro-blogging platform X, Gandhi posted a poignant letter reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the people of Pilibhit. “My term as Pilibhit MP may be ending, but my relationship with Pilibhit will not end till my last breath,” Gandhi wrote, seeking blessings to persist in advocating for the common man regardless of the obstacles.

Reflecting on his long association with Pilibhit, Gandhi recalled his initial encounter with the constituency as a young child in 1983. “Little did I know that this land would become my workplace and its people would become my family,” he reminisced, underscoring the deep roots he has established in the region over the years.

Despite the setback of not being nominated as the BJP candidate, Gandhi pledged to continue serving the people of Pilibhit, even if not in the capacity of an MP. “If not as an MP, then as a son, I am committed to serve you throughout my life,” he affirmed, assuring that his doors would always remain open for the constituents.

Pilibhit has historically been a stronghold of the Sanjay Gandhi family, with Maneka Gandhi, Varun’s mother, registering significant victories in the constituency. Since 1989, the family has maintained a firm grip on the seat, with Maneka winning multiple elections, alternating between various party affiliations.

Varun Gandhi himself entered the political arena by securing victory in Pilibhit on a BJP ticket in 2009, following in his mother’s footsteps. The constituency witnessed a seesaw of electoral fortunes, with both mother and son taking turns representing it in the Lok Sabha under the BJP banner.

With Varun Gandhi’s emotional appeal resonating across Pilibhit, the political landscape of the constituency stands poised for a significant shift. As the electoral battle intensifies, the sentiments of the people and their enduring ties with their representatives will undoubtedly shape the outcome of the forthcoming elections.
