A special MP-MLA court in Sultanpur on Monday acquitted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a 2018 criminal defamation case filed by BJP leader Vijay Mishra over objectionable remarks against Amit Shah. Gandhi appeared in person for the verdict. Despite this relief, the Leader of Opposition continues to face five similar defamation cases across various courts nationwide.
