In a shocking turn of events, a Kolkata couple has been apprehended by the authorities for their involvement in the murder of a Pune businessman at a luxurious hotel in Guwahati. The victim, identified as 42-year-old Sandip Kambli, was discovered lifeless at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati.
Police investigations have uncovered a complex web of relationships behind the tragic incident. It was revealed that Kambli had been involved in a dispute with 25-year-old Anjali Shaw, an employee at a restaurant in Kolkata Airport, and her boyfriend Rakesh Shaw. The altercation reportedly stemmed from Kambli’s insistence on marrying Anjali, coupled with his possession of intimate photographs of her.
Anjali, who was already in a relationship with Rakesh, confided in him about Kambli’s advances and the existence of compromising photos. Fearing the consequences of these images, the couple devised a plan to confront Kambli and retrieve the photographs.
The confrontation between the trio took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati, where Kambli had arranged to meet Anjali under false pretenses. Rakesh, having booked a separate room at the same hotel, joined the confrontation, leading to a violent altercation that left Kambli unconscious and fatally injured.
Following the altercation, Anjali and Rakesh fled the scene, leaving behind Kambli’s belongings. The hotel staff discovered Kambli’s body and alerted the authorities, who swiftly launched an investigation. Utilizing CCTV footage, guest lists, and airport passenger manifests, the police were able to track down and apprehend Anjali and Rakesh near Azara as they attempted to flee to Kolkata.
