“Entire BJP claimed he was corrupt”: AAP Regarding Minister Raaj Kumar Anand Who Quit

“Investigative agencies put pressure on Raaj Kumar Anand, a minister for the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of Delhi, who resigned today and left the party, alleging corruption,” AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj stated today.

The party noted that he was being investigated by federal agencies and that a search of his home was conducted last year in relation to a suspected case of corruption.
Earlier today, Mr. Anand quit from the party and resigned from the cabinet. “After reading about the AAP’s resolute stance against corruption, I decided to join.” The party is currently embroiled in unethical activities. That is the reason I have chosen to resign,” declared the leader, who was in charge of the portfolios for social welfare, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes.

AAP pressed the back button. Raaj Kumar Anand’s home was the target of a 23-hour Enforcement Directorate raid in November, according to senior AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj. “The entire BJP was then saying that Raaj Kumar Anand is corrupt,” he stated.

Reiterating that the BJP’s intention behind the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal is to break AAP, Mr Bhardwaj said, “Every minister and MLA of Aam Aadmi Party is facing a test”.

“We know some people will retreat in this fight, some will have weak morale, some will break but there are a large number of people who will face these circumstances,” Mr Bhardwaj added.

In November 2023, the Enforcement Directorate searched Mr. Anand’s home in connection with a money laundering case involving customs. In a local court complaint, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence claimed that false declarations in imports were made to evade customs duties totaling more than ₹ 7 crore. After that, the ED brought a complaint against Mr. Anand.
