New Delhi: The central government has issued a notice to Meta over WhatsApp’s proposed username feature, citing concerns that it could increase online fraud, phishing, and digital arrest-related cybercrimes. The government has asked the company to submit a detailed explanation within three days and advised it not to launch the feature in India until all security and privacy concerns are satisfactorily addressed.
