The INDIA Bloc has won the Jammu and Kashmir assembly polls, which were the first assembly elections since 2014, first as a Union Territory and first after the removal of Article 370 which gave the erstwhile state special status. In Haryana, the saffron party has won the polls for the record consecutive third time. The BJP has till now won 42 seats and is currently ahead in six out of the total 90 seats. The Congress has so far secured 30 and is leading in six.
In J&K’s 90 seats, the NC and Congress have won in 48, the BJP in 29 and the PDP in three. AAP’s Mehraj Malik has handed the Arvind Kejriwal-led party its first-ever electoral battle in Jammu and Kashmir.
