Rushad Rana, who played a student in Shah Rukh Khan’s class in Mohabbatein (2000), recently shared his experience of working on the sets alongside Bollywood icons. In a candid interview, the actor spoke about his interactions with stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Rani Mukerji during his time on both Mohabbatein and Veer Zaara.
Reflecting on his time on the Mohabbatein set, Rushad revealed that he had little to no interaction with Aishwarya Rai, who was one of the leading actors in the film. According to him, Aishwarya appeared to “look right through” him and his co-stars. He shared a similar experience with Preity Zinta during Veer Zaara, explaining, “She chose to look right through us… You can’t exactly say ‘Hi’ to those who choose to ignore you.”
However, Rushad’s memories of Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji were more positive. He expressed his surprise when Shah Rukh Khan recognized him when they reunited for Veer Zaara, despite having worked together briefly on Mohabbatein. Speaking about his interactions with Rani Mukerji, Rushad recalled a memorable moment when she told him that her mother was a fan of his work on the television show Kehta Hai Dil. Rani praised television actors for their ability to deliver lengthy dialogues, and throughout the shoot, she was warm and friendly towards him.
Although Rushad has had notable roles in Bollywood films, including Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, 8 x 10 Tasveer, and Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, he is best known for his work in television. He starred in popular series such as Hip Hip Hurray, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki, Sasural Simar Ka, Kumkum Bhagya, and Anupamaa, solidifying his reputation as a prominent figure in Indian television.
