A nursing student from Tamil Nadu’s Theni district was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by unidentified persons, according to local police. The incident came to light after the victim was found at a railway station, and an investigation is currently underway.
The victim left her hometown by bus and called her father to report suspicious behavior from a woman in a black dress who appeared to be following her. After this call, her phone became unreachable, raising concerns and prompting her father to file a missing person report with the Theni police.
Authorities revealed that the victim was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted about 50 kilometers from Dindigul. She was later found near the Dindigul railway station, where she approached the police and recounted the horrifying incident.
Dindigul District Superintendent of Police, Pradeep, confirmed the incident and visited the victim, who has since been admitted to the Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital for medical treatment. The police have faced challenges in questioning the victim due to her suffering from an epileptic attack during the initial inquiry.
An FIR has been lodged under two sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code), and efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. The police are actively investigating the case, and further details are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
