General Hospital Star Johnny Wactor Shot Dead in Los Angeles

Hollywood actor Johnny Wactor, known for his role as Brando Corbin on the popular soap opera General Hospital, was tragically shot and killed early Saturday morning in Los Angeles. Wactor, 37, was reportedly attacked around 3 a.m. PT by thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car. Despite not resisting the assailants, Wactor was fatally shot before the perpetrators fled the scene.

His mother, Scarlett, confirmed the tragic news to TMZ, stating that her son did not attempt to confront the thieves. Wactor was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. As of the latest reports, no suspects have been arrested.

David Shaul, Wactor’s agent, expressed deep sorrow over the actor’s death. Speaking to People Magazine, Shaul described Wactor as a “spectacular human being” and praised his dedication to his craft. “Not just a talented actor who was committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. Standing for hard work, tenacity, and a never-give-up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession, he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be,” Shaul said. “Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever.”

Wactor’s death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community. His General Hospital co-star, Sofia Mattsson, took to Instagram to pay an emotional tribute. “My heart is so utterly broken… Johnny was the absolute best. So genuine. So caring. Incredibly hard-working and humble. With a huge heart that spread so much kindness and joy. He always made sure everyone around him felt seen, heard, and loved. I admire the man he was so much and I’m a better person for having known him,” she wrote. “We shared so many special moments, both on and off screen, and I will forever cherish them deeply in my heart. You will be so incredibly missed Johnny… I’m sure you’re already busy taking care of everyone up there.”

Wactor had a prolific acting career, with roles in numerous TV series including NCIS, The OA, Westworld, The Passenger, Station 19, Barbee Rehab, Siberia, Agent X, Vantastic, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Girl, Training Day, and Criminal Minds. He began his career in 2007 with Army Wives and quickly became a respected figure in the industry.
