New Delhi: The political dispute over the Election Commission and Special Intensive Revision intensified on Monday. Congress and other opposition parties continued demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, while BJP leaders defended the poll panel and accused the Opposition of spreading misconceptions. The Election Commission recently extended SIR deadlines in Delhi and Maharashtra and eased certain verification requirements.
