KATHMANDU: Thousands of supporters gathered at Tribhuvan International Airport on Friday to welcome former King Gyanendra Shah upon his return from eastern Nepal. Defying prohibitory orders, the massive crowd chanted slogans and carried posters demanding the restoration of the monarchy. The show of strength comes as a significant move ahead of the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections next month.
