Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was brought before a federal court in New York on Monday night. According to CNN, Maduro told the court that his arrest was illegal and that he had been kidnapped. During his initial hearing, Maduro declared his innocence, stating, “I am not a criminal. I am an honorable man and I am still the president of my country.”
