7 Killed In Shooting In 2 Homes Near Chicago, Suspect On The Run

Authorities in the US said on Tuesday that a shooting at two separate homes close to Chicago claimed the lives of at least seven people.
Romeo Nance has been identified as the suspect, who is currently at large, in the shooting that occurred at the 2200 block of West Acres Road in Joliet, Illinois, according to the police.

Joliet police chief Bill Evans said at a press conference that “a total of seven people were found shot to death” in two homes.

Nance, a 23-year-old, lived close to the shootings, he claimed.

Nance is thought to be driving a red Toyota Camry, according to the Joliet Police Department, and should be considered “armed and dangerous”.

The police has urged anyone with knowledge about Nance and the car to get in touch with their neighborhood law enforcement office.
The United States is grappling with an abundance of mass shootings and gun-related incidents. In the first three weeks of this year itself, there have been over 875 gun deaths, according to data gathered by the Gun Violence Archive, which reports on gun violence incidents in the United States.
