Yograj Singh, the former Indian fast bowler and father of Yuvraj Singh, has made a startling claim, stating that he once wanted to kill Kapil Dev after being dropped from the national team. In an interview on Unfiltered by Samdish, Yograj explained that after Kapil Dev became captain, he was dropped from the squad without explanation. Yograj revealed that he had planned to confront Kapil with a pistol but decided against it because Kapil’s mother was present at that time.

Yograj played one Test match and six ODIs for India under Gavaskar’s captainship. However, later he was dropped and never became part of the Indian team. He later became a successful actor and acted in several Punjabi films.

Yograj also mentioned that in 2011, following India’s World Cup win, he sent Kapil a newspaper clipping showing that his son, Yuvraj, had outperformed Kapil in the tournament. Additionally, he accused former India captain Bishan Singh Bedi of plotting against him, claiming Bedi had influenced the selection committee to drop him due to his association with Sunil Gavaskar and Mumbai cricket. Yograj was close to Sunil Gavaskar during his playing days.
