‘Apparently Did It 10-12 Times…’: Prince Harry Breaks Silence On Divorce Rumours With Meghan

Prince Harry has addressed persistent rumors of a rift in his marriage to Meghan Markle, following their recent appearances at separate events. Speaking at the New York Times 2024 DealBook Summit, the Duke of Sussex laughed off the speculation, citing exaggerated media narratives.

“Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?” Harry joked during his conversation with DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin.

The rumors gained traction as the couple, known for their close partnership, adopted a “twin-track” approach to their professional commitments. Meghan Markle recently hosted a private dinner for the Southern California Welcome Project, while Harry focused on other engagements, including his advocacy for online safety through their Archewell Foundation.

Addressing why he was attending events solo, Harry quipped, “Because you invited me, you should have known!” He acknowledged the challenges posed by constant media attention, particularly the toll it takes on mental health. “It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”

Harry also reflected on the impact of media scrutiny on his upbringing, referencing his late mother, Princess Diana, and the challenges she faced. He emphasized the importance of their philanthropic efforts, noting that his “main goal” is “being the best husband and dad that I can be.”

The couple, who share two children—Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3—continue to reside in California. Meghan recently attended the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala, supporting Lilibet’s godfather, Tyler Perry, as he received the Paley Honors Award.

While Harry acknowledged their professional relationship had been at a “crossroads,” he reiterated that their charitable work remains a priority, particularly Archewell’s mission to improve online safety for children.
