Israeli Army Accuses Hezbollah of Storing ‘Millions Of Dollars In Gold & Cash’ Under Beirut Hospital

The Israeli military has made serious allegations against Hezbollah, claiming the militant group is hoarding hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold in a bunker located beneath Al-Sahel Hospital in the southern suburbs of Beirut. The accusations were presented by Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari during a televised briefing on Monday.

Hagari stated, “Tonight, I am going to declassify intelligence on a site that we did not strike—where Hezbollah has millions of dollars in gold and cash—in Hassan Nasrallah’s bunker. Where is the bunker located? Directly under Al-Sahel Hospital in the heart of Beirut.” He noted that this particular site had not yet been targeted by Israeli forces.

In response, Fadi Alameh, the head of Al-Sahel Hospital, dismissed the allegations as false. Alameh, who is also a lawmaker affiliated with Hezbollah ally Amal, stated that the hospital’s emergency department is still operational and expressed readiness for inspection by the Lebanese army or other observers to debunk Israel’s claims. He added, “Medical staff in the emergency department, the only hospital unit still operating despite the dangers, were being evacuated.”

During the briefing, Hagari emphasized that Israeli forces are actively targeting Hezbollah’s financial operations. He reported that over two dozen sites had been struck, including a bunker believed to contain tens of millions of dollars in cash and gold. “The Israeli Air Force carried out a series of precise strikes on these Hezbollah financial strongholds… One of our main targets last night was an underground vault with tens of millions of dollars in cash and gold. The money was being used to finance Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel,” Hagari claimed.

However, he did not clarify whether the recent airstrikes had destroyed all of the alleged wealth.

These operations mark an escalation in Israel’s military campaign against Hezbollah, which has been intensified following a year of escalating tensions that erupted into full-scale conflict in late September.
