Saif Ali Khan Says, His Children Have No Pressure To Be In The Same Profession As His

Saif Ali Khan’s newest film, Devara: Part 1, hit theatres last Friday, and the actor has been actively promoting it in recent days. In an interview with India Today, Saif discussed his four children, emphasizing that there is no pressure on them to follow in his footsteps as actors, even though two of them—Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan—are already pursuing acting.

He remarked, “Carrying the family legacy forward in terms of being a good person or a successful individual is different from becoming a movie star. There’s no pressure on them to become actors, even though I think it’s a fantastic job.”

Saif continued, “Two of my older kids are already actors or aspiring to be. Taimur once said he couldn’t bear the thought of performing in front of an audience—I completely understood. But now, he’s excited about his school play. The youngest, Jehangir, is a natural performer; I can see where he gets it from. So, there’s no pressure. While acting is a great profession, they could just as easily be teachers as long as they’re happy.”

Saif, who was previously married to Amrita Singh until 2004, has two children with her: Sara and Ibrahim. He also has two sons, Taimur and Jehangir, with Kareena Kapoor. Sara made her acting debut in Kedarnath in 2018, and Ibrahim is set to make his debut in Sarzameen, alongside Kajol.

In Devara: Part 1, Saif marks his Telugu film debut as the antagonist, alongside lead actors Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Kortala Siva, the pan-India action film has had a wide release in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, quickly crossing ₹100 crore domestically and ₹200 crore globally within just two days.
