Kangana Ranaut Sells Controversial Pali Hill Bungalow for Rs 32 Crore Amidst Film Release Delays

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has reportedly sold her Pali Hill bungalow, a property that once housed her production company, Manikarnika Films, for Rs 32 crore. According to a report by Zapkey, the actress purchased the property for Rs 20.7 crore in September 2017 and took a loan of Rs 27 crore from ICICI Bank against it in December 2022.

The sale of the bungalow, which had gained attention due to its controversial past, was recently highlighted in a video by a YouTube channel named Code Estate. While the video did not explicitly name the property or its owner, viewers and social media users speculated that it belonged to Kangana, based on the visuals. The video description detailed that the plot spans 285 square meters, with a construction area of 3,042 square feet and additional parking of 500 square feet. The two-story property had been priced at Rs 40 crore.

This bungalow became embroiled in a legal battle with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in 2020, when parts of the office were demolished by the authorities, citing illegal construction. The demolition was halted midway following a stay order from the Bombay High Court, and Kangana later filed a case against the BMC. Although she initially demanded Rs 2 crore in compensation, she withdrew her claim in May 2023.

The sale of the property comes at a time when Kangana is also preparing for the release of her upcoming film, Emergency. Originally set for release on September 6, the film has been delayed as it awaits certification from the censor board. The film has also faced calls for a boycott from several Sikh organizations, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akal Takht, who claim the film portrays the Sikh community in a negative light. These groups have demanded an immediate ban on the film.
