In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 28-year-old woman was found dead in her flat on Wednesday morning, with her throat slit and body drenched in blood. The deceased, identified as B Navyashree, was a dance instructor and host. She was discovered by her friend, Aishwarya, who woke up to find Navyashree lying lifeless beside her.
The tragedy unfolded at Navyashree’s rented accommodation in SMV Layout, Kengeri Upanagara, where she lived with her husband, Kiran. The previous evening, Navyashree had expressed her fears for her safety to Aishwarya, citing ongoing marital disputes with Kiran.
According to police reports, Navyashree had sent messages to her friends, Aishwarya and Anil, on the morning of August 27, requesting a meeting. During their meeting, Navyashree confided in her friends about the distress she was facing both at home and elsewhere, fearing for her life due to her troubled marriage. Anil suggested that she file a complaint against her husband, believing that police intervention could help resolve the situation.
Later that night, around 11:30 p.m., Anil dropped Navyashree and Aishwarya back at Navyashree’s flat. The two women went to bed, but tragedy struck in the early hours of the morning. Around 6 a.m., Aishwarya discovered Navyashree’s body and immediately alerted the neighbors and contacted the police.
Investigations suggest that Kiran may have gained entry into the flat using a spare key. The police have since arrested Kiran, a cab driver, on charges of murder. The couple had been married for three years but had reportedly been facing ongoing domestic disputes.
Navyashree hailed from Bhadravathi in Shivamogga district and worked as a dance instructor at a private school in Bengaluru. Her untimely death has sent shockwaves through the community, with neighbors and friends mourning the loss of a vibrant and talented young woman.
A murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigations are underway to uncover the full details surrounding this tragic incident.
