In a shocking incident that has drawn widespread outrage, a primary school teacher in Aligarh’s Gokulpur village, Dhanipur region, was caught on video sleeping in the classroom while her students waved handheld fans around her. The video, which has since gone viral, has led to the suspension of the teacher, identified as Dimple Bansal.
The 2-minute clip shows Bansal sleeping on the floor of a classroom, while a young girl is seen fanning her with a handheld fan. Later, another girl takes over the task, while other students sit quietly beside the sleeping teacher. The incident has brought to light serious concerns about the state of the education system in the region.
Parents of the students involved are outraged, expressing their anger and disappointment after the video surfaced online. The situation further deteriorated when another video emerged, reportedly showing Bansal assaulting students. The source of this footage remains unknown, but its release has intensified public backlash.
Reacting swiftly to the incident, Aligarh’s Basic Education Office took immediate action against Bansal. Basic Education Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh confirmed that both videos featured the same teacher. He announced that a team would be formed to investigate the matter thoroughly and promised further action based on the findings.
“The actions of the teacher in these videos are completely unacceptable. We will ensure a thorough investigation and take appropriate measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” said Singh.
