Three women who had emigrated to the US from Gujarat’s Anand district died in a tragic car accident in the US state of South Carolina, according to their relatives.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, there was an accident on Friday on the Staunton Bridge Road near Lakeside Road along Interstate 85. This information was reported by the media. According to reports, the speeding vehicle leaped at least 20 feet into the air before colliding with trees.
The three are Rekha Dilip Patel, Sangita Bhavnesh Patel, and Manisha Rajendra Patel, according to relatives in Gujarat. They were from the villages of Vasna (Borsad) and Kavitha in the Borsad taluka of the Anand district of the state.
They said the women were related too. Manisha’s husband Rajendra is a cousin of the two men, and Rekha and Sangita’s husbands, Dilip and Bhavnesh Patel, are brothers.
All three women’s families, along with their husbands, had long since moved to the United States, with the exception of Sangita’s father Vitthalbhai.
“I found out that my daughter and two other women perished in a car crash in the United States on Friday. There is a fourth woman who has been admitted to the hospital; she is also related”. Reporters were informed by Vitthalbhai Patel that they were going on an outing.
He claimed that although Sangita moved to India almost 20 years ago, she never went back. Vitthalbhai said that his son had come here a few months ago to shop for his marriage.
Vasna (Borsad) resident Niranjan Patel said that a prayer meeting for the three women was arranged in their village.
“When the accident happened, Rekhaben and Sangitaben were traveling to South Carolina from Atlanta, Georgia, where they previously resided with their husbands. During the prayer meeting, the villagers expressed their sorrow, according to Niranjan Patel.
The accident victims were travelling in an SUV, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, Fox Carolina reported.
He said the vehicle left the roadway on the right-hand shoulder, ran up the embankment, went through the cement bridge embankment, and jumped completely over all four lanes of traffic.
It then went through some trees on the other side and down an embankment, he added.
