Late last night, authorities in Bareilly apprehended the second accused in the tragic murder of two children in Badaun. Identified as Javed, he is the brother of the deceased Sajid, the prime suspect in the case.
Javed voluntarily surrendered himself at the Satellite Police outpost of Baradari police station, according to Senior Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi of Badaun. A police team from the nearby Bareilly district carried out the arrest. Javed is currently being transported to Badaun for further interrogation.
The harrowing incident occurred on Tuesday when Sajid, who operated a barber shop near the victims’ residence, brutally killed two brothers and critically wounded their third sibling. The motive behind the gruesome act remains unclear. Sajid engaged in a confrontation with law enforcement while attempting to escape and was fatally shot in the ensuing encounter.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Javed had evaded authorities by turning off his mobile phone and fleeing to Delhi. However, local residents at the satellite bus stand in Bareilly identified and detained him before turning him over to the police.
