A Special Executive Magistrate court in Delhi ordered the release of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after seven days in judicial custody. The court turned down Delhi Police’s plea seeking a three-day custody extension. Both leaders were initially detained during a protest at Jantar Mantar and were released upon furnishing undertakings to maintain peace.
