New Delhi: The Supreme Court ruled that Dearness Allowance is a legally enforceable right, directing West Bengal to clear arrears from 2008 to 2019. A committee led by Justice Indu Malhotra will oversee the schedule. The court mandated releasing 25% of the dues by March 6, 2026, providing major relief to nearly 20 lakh state employees and pensioners.
