Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has defended Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the hijab controversy. Manjhi said that Nitish, being a 74-year-old man, had asked the female doctor to lower her hijab slightly, treating her like his daughter, and there was no malicious intent behind it. He accused the opposition of unnecessarily escalating the issue and politicizing it.
