Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of destroying 20 years of achievements of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) in a single day. He said that through the “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) bill, the rural employment guarantee scheme has been transformed from a rights-based program to a centrally controlled, limited scheme, thereby weakening the rights of villages and states.
