Prime Minister Modi initiated a discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. He said that Vande Mataram was a powerful response to the British, and this slogan continues to inspire even today. Mahatma Gandhi also admired it during the freedom struggle and envisioned it as the national anthem.
