    Fresh snowfall on 4000 meter high peaks of Himalayas increases cold

    The effects of the recent snowfall on the 4,000-meter-high peaks of the Himalayas are now being felt in the plains. Following the snowfall, icy winds from the mountains are reaching the plains directly. With no system in place to stop this, the cold and the cold wave have intensified. Along with hilly areas like Srinagar, it has also become one of the top 12 coldest cities in the country.
