The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notices to 8 states on the laws related to religious conversion and asked them to file their replies within 4 weeks. The court was hearing petitions challenging the laws of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand and Karnataka.
