Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh tweeted about the floods in Punjab. He wrote that floods have occurred in Punjab due to illegal mining. To protect crops from floods, embankments (dams) were strengthened and raised on the banks of rivers Sutlej, Beas, Ravi and Ghaggar. However, due to illegal mining, they became weak, due to which water entered the villages. I will submit a report to the Prime Minister on this.
